I am trialling an 11-46 tomorrow for a few days, and in expectation of this yet inevitable and ridiculous expense i am thinking ahead a bit. Do you have to buy B&O active glasses or is there a more modest non B&O option.

Basically i'm not keen on spending 5 x £120 on something the "kids"Whistle will mainly get advantage from.

Ask your dealer if you can borrow his 3D glasses? My dealer lent me a pair for a few days. I wasn't impressed at all though!

Personally, I wouldn't move from a MKII BV10-46 to a BV11-46. I'd hang around a bit and see what's coming soon. There are some big new changes to panel technology which could be only 6-12 months away if B&O are serious about releasing updated products, more quickly. Also, in hindsight, I wish I'd bought the BV11-55. The BV11-46, for more, minor picture improvements aside, is basically the same TV, albeit without my favourite orange fret :)

It's not really the picture I'm interested in although having the light sensor on top where our window shines in would help in the day.

The new sound modes would really help especially when the kids are in bed, and I still definitely want a better centre channel. I have the 8000's wired up now watching Dread and the sound isn't too bad. It's just everyday viewing where I want much clearer vocals, as good as an Avant.

I'm aware new technologies are on the horizon but when B&O get round to retailing them is anyone's question. The 11 is still very new so that's going anywhere soon, the 7 will be replaced next year I'm sure. Of all the line to benefit from OLED etc I think it will be the 12-65.

Better sound, slightly better picture, smart sound modes for night viewing. I'll see tomorrow.

What do you think of it, so far, Chris?

EDIT: ignore this, I noticed you've posted a thread on the BV11. Oops.

It might be because i"m Dutch but I am not too fond op spending 150 euro's on a set of glasses too Smile. I am quite happy with the universal 3D glasses I bought of XPAND 3D. I bought them from Amazon Germany for est. 35 euro a piece.
