Beotalk 1200 cracking noise

Dear members,

I've purchased an new Beotalk 1200. I haven't set everything up correctly until now. However, I have wall mounted the unit and connected cables according to the manual. When plugging in the power supply, after a couple of minutes some strange cracking noises and beeps can be heard from the speaker. Is this an indication for a defect? If not, what other reasons can be the cause?

Help is much appreciated.
