Hello,

I have juts bought a 7-4 because I was really disappointed about the two Beolabs 4000 as center in a 5.1 setup.

But it seems that the 7.4 sounds crisp indeed but kind of flat. Can anybody confirm this or might it caused by the Beosystem 2. Unfortunately this does not allow to set a speaker type of the center.

Any disappointing experience with the Beolab 7.4?

Hi

I just bought one with a bv7. I find it very powerfull and efficient.(5.1 with bl3)

Unfortunately, I already own a bl 7.2 so I don't really need it, that's why I sell it.

DId you check all the settings on your tv (volume of each speaker) ?

Best regards

Olivier

You said "Unfortunately this does not allow to set a speaker type of the center."

This is why it sounds flat. It is a mono speaker and it receive all frequencies at the same time.It can't sound good this way.

The 4000 are able to deal with this situation not a bl 7.4

Hi,

What you could try is changing the distance of the center speaker this will make it think its further away so it will produce a higher volume!

I do not believe that all signals are routed to the 7.4 because it is still in 5.1 environment. I guess only when I use them in SPEAKER 1 mode it comes to this effect you have described.

My former setup was with the Beolab 4000 and there I could clearly hear a distortion when leaving the optimal triangle position due to the stereo effect.
