Yes it is. They have told all the dealers that they should replace them right away if someone report any kind of problem, specialy with batteries. This is third one I got from local dealer and it turn it self off completely when working on battery. Some of them after few hours but first one I had started that issue after two months! There is also two types of them on the market. First series had on the inside of the back door manual with lot of iphone setting pictures. That one is rly good. But the second one and the curent you will recognize with only four pictures on inner side of doors. Also no little hole for cable. It's bit lighter, cheeper plastic and sound is so plastic like theres no LBA at all. Simply not Bang.

I know there is ppl with working beolits but generaly its cheep problem. No time for extreme testings like before? In China? This problem is widely reported in four countryes atm. God damn it.

So the "mk2" would be more cheaply made then?

Too long to list....

Looks like it!

It does appear that they launch a product, then find a cheaper way to produce it at a later date. I noticed that on the Beolab 4000 & even as far back as the C75 speaker which became a cheaper to produce CX100.

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

True, the BL5's where changed too. New models have the thin not grounded power cord, old ones as mine have the "proper" computer-like power cord.

No problem at all, because Beolit 12 Mk2 costs only 100 €!😜

After reading and then rereading the OP several times, especially the "replace them right away" part ... sounds frankly as though counterfeits have wiggled into the supply chain and this is all a big hush-hush!!!

An interesting thought, one certainly sees a ton of counterfeit A8 headphones on eBay and such. Perhaps one disadvantage of producing things in China is that someone inside will leak the major design drawings and such to counterfeiters. I've seen instances where the firms making DVDs of movies have had such intellectual property pilfering.

I guess it's one of the many things you have to consider with any production location decision...

certainly is a tried & true (and accepted) practice of Apple ... iPhone 3 -> 3GS, 4 -> 3S, 5-> ? + ??

but the Apple quality does not decline - just more internal efficiencies (or so it seems)

However I can't believe that B&O would be silly to compromise the external finnish which is such a strong part of the brand

I "like" Sad the theory of lookalikes slipping into the supply chain ... makes one hopping mad to think of the additional expense B&O may now have - at a time when they can ill afford that !

Elephant, I agree with you on the Apple thing, however...

You took the iPhone as an example, yes the iPhone1 was a marvelous device, and so beautiful, the 2 and 3's where horrible. But from iPhone 4 the quality of the design and materials used once again got better. I like the 5'er, but it does scratch very easily. On the other hand it's great to have the antennae problems gone, and no back-glass, which was just another piece of glass that needed replacement if you dropped it. Yes - thumbs up

Seriously, it's this bad?

Is the mk2 currently at dealers shelves? I haven't played with the product since in Struer last year, at the B&O headquarter store, it felt nice and massive then.

Too long to list....

I personally like my Lit12,though I also had my first one replaced due to the battery not charching anymore.I admit that the wireless connection is some sort of a weak spot though...otherwise its a fine  product with superb sound IMHO

Jens

Oh dear Flappo. After the amount of times you have posted I would have though you knew about this product.

BeoLit is a portable speaker with no other function (No radio music etc..). The cool thing is that you can stream music to BeoLit 12 wirelessly from the iPhone and enjoy 120W+ of amplification. The speaker really is a powerfull speaker built into a very small box. It looks cool, it feels cool, and yes, you look cool with one of them.

Come on, buy a BeoLit 12 and share your music with your friends. You won't regret it!

Just put an Apply logo on a concrete block, he'll buy it and never complain that it doesn't work. Stick out tongue

Is somebody suggesting an official cost-reduced rework of the Beolit or counterfeits getting into the system? There are reconditioned ones being offered on the online store. Obviously reworked returned units.

There is no such thing as a MKII Beolit12. The first versions had to be setup with an Ethernet cable and due to a sw update thismade it possible to update or connect the Beolit 12 to your router via wifi. Hardly a mk change more like a convenience update?!

No, that's what happens when you use crappy Apple iPad autocorrect when posting instead of using a proper machine, like a PC.
