Good day fellow beoworlders, just came back from a holiday,to be confronted with beolab issues.

The problem is when I switched the input on my lab4000s there is no sound.I have swapped speakers isolated cables etc and both speakers and cables work when set to right, when I switch to left there is no sound.i switched on one speaker independently everything works when switched to right but not left!.the other speakers the same.i have played with balance aswell.when both connected and switched to left and right, the same again,so have concluded its to do with the left switch.can anyone please help me

How are the speakers connected?

Have you tried to tried to turn off tthe 'source' for a couple of minutes?

Could you maybe try another 'source' to see if they behave the same.

May be a silly question, but are you sure you switched them to left? Most (all?) beolabs have three settings, Line - Left - Right so Left is actually the 'middle' setting. If I recall on the 4000's the top setting is Line, the middle is Left and the bottom is Right - if you switched them from right and moved to the other end that is not left it is Line in hence no sound

Sounds as if somewhere in your setup the left channel is bridged to ground hence the muffled / soft sound.

It could be a masterlink cable (if the source you are listening to is not the audio unit the speakers are attached to but a masterlinked source that's your problem) or the powerlink itself (although you have new cable so probably not cable).
