Hi all,

I recently had my PUC software upgraded whilst my panel was being replaced under warranty on my MKIII BV7-40. Since the upgrade the SKY+ HD software is different and has gone from a double GO for select to a single GO. That in itself is good news. However it is so slow in response compared to the old PUC SKY software. Has anybody experienced the same and can you still get the old software?

Hi, the slow response is almost certainly because the IR blaster is not in the optimum position. You will notice slow response mostly on numbers.

To fix this, detach the IR blaster and whilst pressing a button on your remote that relates to Sky (such as Up) move the IR around until you're happy with the response.

On Sky HD I always put the sensor on the circumference of the LEDs, on the left hand side.

The single click change - have you got the new Beo4 with the navigation button?

The old software may have been updated, but it may also be that you have a different version of the software to the one you had before. The is software for Pace Sky Plus, Thompson Sky HD, Amstrad Sky HD and others. I personally always install Pace and Thompson, the Pace one seems to have the most success with the most boxes. Do you know how to look at the software you have on your TV? Menu, Menu, Options, Connections, select the connection you have for Sky and keep pressing Go until it shows you the Set Top Box software menu

HI Martin, thanks for your response and sorry for my late reply.

I have the old Mk3 BEO 4 without navigation button. I also have tried the IR location and can confirm that is 100% correct. when navigating through TV guide the left and right up and down are really quick. It is the single Select (GO) that is very slow and the play / stop commands. Much slower than the old software
