Just got a Beovision 8-40, with Sky HD as the source. Really not impressed with the picture, especially with a fast moving objects going across the screen, creates a soft haze round the fast moving object? Managed to turn OFF Movie Mode but hasn't made a difference! Is there anything else worth switching off on the internal menu related to the picture output? Many thanks.

Remember the BV8 is getting on a bit now, the panel might not be a recent panel. I wasn't massively impressed with my BV8-26's panel, unless I stood a few metres away from the TV. My new BV10-32's picture is amazing, compared to my old BV8, as an example. Better than the BV11's, due to the size.
The problem with the haze is it's a 50hz panel, so can't keep up with fast-moving objects, as you say - football was a good example.
The bv8-40 was a 100hz panel.

Try switching it into "game mode". This will massively improve the haze aorund fast moving object. However the BV8 will never be great for fast sports etc.
BeoVision Eclipse 55, BeoPlay S8 (sub+rears), BeoPlay A9 MKII (living room), BeoVision Avant 32 DVD (retro gaming, basement), BeoLab 4000 (entertainment room, basement), BeoSound 8 (workshop), 2x BeoPlay S3 (PC), BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay H2/H3 (on the go)
Yes Martin, the BV8-40 is connected to the Sky Box via a HDMI cable and the Sky Box in see things is set to 1080i. Many thanks for your response.
Game mode will turn off all image processing, and let the tv run at the native 50hz. So in this case it will do the opposite.
I shall try your suggestion and turn Game Mode on. Many thanks Frederik.

Yeah, sorry I meant my BV8-26 had a 50hz screen. It wasn't great for watching football, I found.
Just the same as used in the BV10-40.
The panels in the BV8-26/32 are/were completely different and old and 'crappish'!

There is a tv - and there is a BV

The bv10-40 and 46 were 200hz with the 32" version being 100hz.
