I currently have a Bose Cinemate 2.1 system, 2 speakers and sub. I do like it but my other half doesn't like the subwoofer in the living room.
The budget doesn't stretch to the Beolab 14 2.1 system. So how about connecting Beolab 4's to my third party LG TV via the headphone socket?
Would the sound quality be any good? Is there another way of connecting the Beolab 4's to a third party TV?
Any info would be much appreicatied.
Thanks

My experience with the Lab 4's is that they only can be justified as rear speakers in a TV set-up. If you ask me there is just not enough depth. For normal TV viewing I guess they would be okay but for movies I would not expect them to perform very well. Why not grab a pair of used BeoLab 3's? They usually sell for around 1200-1300£. Just my thoughts
BeoVision Eclipse 55, BeoPlay S8 (sub+rears), BeoPlay A9 MKII (living room), BeoVision Avant 32 DVD (retro gaming, basement), BeoLab 4000 (entertainment room, basement), BeoSound 8 (workshop), 2x BeoPlay S3 (PC), BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay H2/H3 (on the go)
Surely it will do, but a headphone-out usually isn't a good choice for connecting loudspeakers....
....and the BL4's are ok - if you don't expect wonders.
So - I agree with Frederik - best save up for a pair of e.g. used BL3's.
