I came across a very nice Beogram 4000. I have another "donor-unit" that has a very nice palisander plinth and want to put this on the new player. It's straightforward to unscrew the fasteners, but the plinth is "stuck" in the lower right corner and I suspect there's a typical B&O trick to get the plinth to release there. Can't see anything under the ON/OFF panel.Suggestions?
Since it was you, I have pulled mine apart - you have to take the control panel off as there is a screw under the right side holding the surround on. - will post a photo!
Peter
Here you are - going to put mine back together again!!
Thank you very much, Peter.I came across an excellently maintained Bg4000 and couldn't resist, particularly as I have a donor unit for spares.
You're too kind!
Couple of tips -
1. Be careful that you make sure the red plastic pointer is in the correct place when you replace the control panel.
2. Try not to dislodge the control surfaces on the control panel : although they do slide back on OK, it is fiddly and you don't need to do it!
3. The cable from the control unit needs to be carefully positioned as it will foul the seating position and if the panel is proud at all, the front of the surround will not push on.
Mine is back in one piece again!
And I have no idea why there is a bit of Blu-Tac under the panel!!
