There is a small allen bolt that locks the pole from the bottom of the TV into the stand. When the TV is in the central point of its rotation, you can see the head of the allen bolt through a small hole. Once the allen bolt is loosened, the TV just lifts up out of the stand.

And if you have a very tall pole stand I would recommend getting some assistance to carefully place the TV and stand horizontally on a bed or sofa (on its back and not on the glass) and then remove the stand from the bottom of the TV. Holding one of these TVs above head height after a sudden release from the pole is not to be recommended.

Similarly, if mounting the TV on a tall pole do the reverse of this procedure.

If it is the tall floor stand and you lay it horizontally on a bed to remove the TV, be careful that the weight of the base doesn't catch you by surprise and tilt upright as you remove the TV. If it is the standard floor stand you can simply lift the TV up off the pole.
