I recently swapped my BeoSystem 3 for a BS 4 and the only thing that I can't get to work is the Network Link connection to my MLGW. Anybody who has got the same setup or any pointers to what is needed in order to get it to work?
I like to use the phone as remote :)Strangely some operations work so they are aware of each other, or at least BS4 is listening to the signals that MLGW sends out.
Anybody with BV11 might have some clue, since I guess there would be some similarities to BS4?
Any help appreciated!

In theory the BS4 and the MLGW should be connected with the NL (Ethernet) cable, not the ML (Masterlink cable).
Also have you got a NL/ML adapter in your setup?
Have you updated the MLGW software?

The MLGW is now a native NetLink product. Unless there's an ML audio system you want to share on the network you don't need a NL/ML Converter.
That being said, you have to address it in the MLGW and set up your sources. It should work fine after that.
Sorry - duplicate post
Hi mjmedio,
you will need the NL/ML Converter for connecting the BSys4 to your existing ML setup.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

I don`t think so.
Agree with Trip.
MLGW with sw 2.10a can detect/control NL products without an NL/ML converter.
You just have to program your MLGW.
My dealer confirmed this. He has such a setup in his house.

Hi Stefan,
and how would he get the ML-sound to his speakers connected to the BSys4?

Thanks for your suggestions guys, but I already have updated the mlgw software to 2.10 and I have tried to configure the BS4 in mlgw setup (and removed all my previous configurations regarding ML.
I have a BeoSound 4 as well, but I'm thinking of getting rid of that one since it is really seldom used. My thought is at least to first get the new BeoSystem4 up and running with MLGW and then take a decision whether to connect the old ML-units or sell them. I have BeoPort also and some link system I can't remember the name of :)
Anyhow, I have made my own software program in Java that communicates with the MLGW and controls everything. That said, I therefore don't need the other ML-units in my setup and probably won't get a NL/ML-converter. I still think one needs it even though you have MLGW. I thought I would give it a go when I have BS4 + MLGW up and running to see how integration works. I post my findings!
As to the question why I swapped the BS3 for BS4 was that I like the idea of online PUC and software updates. Furthermore I'm curious about the new NL-protocol and what they will do with it. And I like the Rj45 ethernet cabling for everything :)
The transition was quite smooth. New cabling to my BV12-65 (3 x Cat7 Ethernet cables) and then 5 speaker adapters Rj45 to Din - your dealer has them. So some cable swapping and I was good to go. Left is to let a B&O technician come to my home and measure the TV for optimal configuration - new with the BeoSystem 4 I think.
My first impression is that there are many more options than BS3 - multiple sound settings and picture settings. A lot of other stuff in it too of course, such as Smart TV and compatibility with their remote app for iPad.However I can't let go of the feeling that BS3 actually delivered better picture, at least for television with non-HD content.
BUT, still, I haven't solved the MLGW-issue :(
Any further suggestions?Anybody knows what to enter in the SN-field of MLGW for NetLink products? I put in the serial number...
Thanks again, hope I answered all the questions!
Well, finally working. Gathered some energy to make a new attempt and after a switch of MLN and a reboot of MLGW it suddenly works. Probably the reboot that was needed...
Well, thanks guys for all assist!
Is there anyone who know's the going price for the BeoSystem 4.........
I guess used items are hard to find, but retail price is ~33000 swedish kronors, which would be about 3800 €.
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there
