So I have an almost fully restored Beogram 8000. Last thing on the agenda is the dust cover. It works fine except it won't stay open. I can live with it but I would like it to stay open when switching records as it can get awkward. Any suggestions?

There is a small set screw that adjusts the tension of a leaf spring that, in turn, controls how the lid stays open.  You have to pull up the plastic trim plate on the top of the housing to get to the adjustment screw (hex head tool is needed).  There is a picture of the adjustment on this Beogram 8002 Repair thread (about the middle of the page).  Just be careful pulling up the plastic trim cover piece. If the lid is completely loose it probably means the leaf spring is detached somewhere inside. You might have to repair it similar to the Beogram 8002 Repair thread.
