I have a Beovision 10-46 with a white(ish) speaker fret. The fret is held on with magnets Where these magnets are, dark circles of dirt/dust have formed. I tried soaking with a pre-wash powder in the bath overnight, but had no success.

Can anyone suggest a solution? Or will I need to buy a new fret?

BV11 uses plastic clips rather than magnets. Makes you wonder whether this was a lower cost production change or a response to a known problem.

When we selected our white BV11 fret we were advised by the dealer that dark marks might eventually appear, but mostly in front of the speakers that would be pushing air through the fret.

Makes you wonder whether something in the TV (or nearby) is generating metallic dust, in which case a darker fret might be the best way of disguising the problem.

There was a recall on the original frets with magnets. I had a 10-32 and B&O replaced the fret with a type held on with velcro. Approach your dealer!!!!

Iron ore in the air is drawn to the magnets and we noticed this more when our showroom door was open. If in warranty you could put a claim in.

Ironically the BeoVision 11 range of front covers are now manufactured with magnets, not completely sure of the Danish logic here? I was so pleased to see the advance to a slide on/Clip on fret from Velcro/magnets.

This is very disturbing news. Just a few months ago I bought four BeoVision 10-40 frets. All of them have the magnets. B&O should be required to have a recall notification system like that required for cars in the U.S.

I called the U.S. BeoCare tech support. The person I spoke to had not hard of the issue, but he researched it for me. He responded as follow:

This is the part numbers for a new improved design of the front cover now it has encapsulated magnets.

Having owned just about all the frets for my BV10-46, I can confirm that it's only the white fret that had problems with dirt/dust. The red, orange, etc, never showed those dirt/dust-related issues.

The fret on my BV11-46 is worse. You can see where they connect to the TV, the speakers below, on a sunny day. I preferred the fret design from the BV10! For instance, I can't see anything under my BV10-32 red fret.
