Dear Elephant,

yes, i am sending it via iTunes.  the error appears on the iTunes screen when it is sent via the macbook and also the macbrook pro.  when i send with my iPhone 4, the playmaker is there but it just drops out before playing, with no error message.

Thanks

Thanks for the clarification that this happens from several sources with similar symptoms.

I don't have an Airplay but I did borrow one for a week and I do not recall seeing a message.

The Beoplay can't operate as a bridge like an Airport Express does -- the AE can be use to extend the range of an Apple base station.

The BeoPlay (I think only) is an edge device for driving a speaker or inputing in to an AUX socket of a Beosystem/Beosound/Beomaster.

I did not tested it with my Beosound 4 but it should have worked ....

Did you activate the Beosound 4 first by pressing AUX ?

Ahhhh (thinking as I type) now I think I think I know the problem - you connected the AUX out to LINE in ?

I believe the AUX in has to be connected to the BeoPlay's SPEAKER outputs - so the Airplay sound goes via the BeoPlay and into the BeoSound 4 as auxillary input: that's how my daughter in law uses her AE.

This means you may need a special cable - check the "Sounds Heavenly" advert below - there may be a description of what you want.

Or search for "powerlink to aux" ....

Thank you very much for your help.  it is now working a treat.  Playmaker connected to both the home Wi-Fi and physically to the Beosound 4 via AUX and then the sound out to the Beolabs.
