I've never seen in the history of the brand such a discontinuity of Bang & Olufsen products. Pathetic. Sad

Don't agree - they are also launching a fair number of new products - a lot of the products discontinued are related - the Beolab 7 range is pointless if no BV7 and the BV4 had rather reached the end of its life - and therefore BV10. The major factor will be - what is selling? Surprised BeoTime is going - I thought this would go on and on - I have a soft spot for it!

The problem is that some products disappear without having substitute. How many years it had the BS5 Encore?

Beovision 10-46, Beocenter 1, Beo 4, Beocom 4, Beolit 12, Beosound 4, Beosound Essence, Beolab 6000

To be fair, I don't think any of the above surprises anyone? We knew the speakers were gone/going, and the audio systems and TVs such as the BV7. The BV10 was always a surprise - no real need for a BV10-40 when there's a BV11-40!

Simple business economics might shock a few people on here, but if a product doesn't attract demand, withdraw the supply! You can't keep old products in your catalogue, for the sake of it. Economies of scale go the other way - the fewer you produce, the higher the cost of producing the product.

I was in the local city store yesterday ... talking about a range of options for moving forward ... I doubt that they had had any forewarning ! most of their show room is now obsolete !!

Might make for an interesting store in 2014 ... I wonder if this means any Christmas present bargains ?

I'm a bit sad to see BV-4 go. Also the BL 10

It had a bit of that old world B&O style. It is very chunky I guess for today's standards, but I've had the 50 and am now on the 65... I'm sure when the opportunity arises, I will go with the 85.

Wonder what they're going to do with the Beosound 5 ?  Could the 7 be getting a refresh ? Like other products have ? The BV 11 is basically the BV 10

You can still find them! Look to the pre-loved market. Lee and Ian both pick up new or ex-demo items, cheaply, from dealers and other sources.

This to me is a positive, you have to move forwards and make brave steps especially if sales are down and or technology advances.

Just think lots of space for new tempting products.

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

Beovision 7 = discontinued

I have always fancied a BV7 and now would obviously a good time to get one. Love to have the 55inch but to big for the room in will be going to.

Whats the opinions on the BV7 against the newer BV"s

I've had both. Last night I watched The day after tomorrow on my 11-46 with the kids on BluRay, and the sound was total garbage. Even my kids started looking at me wondering what this noise was(bass distortion again)

Never get a Mk1 anything, hence why I'd rather a 7-40 Mk6!

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Isn't your 11-46 still under guarantee?

Can't comment on the BV7, but I would rate the BV 11-40 sound and picture to be comparable with my previous Avant and BV5.

My 11-40 fits fairly precisely onto a slightly wider section of wall.... and the motorised hinge adds that magic B&O touch. I've noticed that following the last software update the TV now swings fully into its video position before the curtains open, which is how it should be.

Yes. But my dealers 11-46 reproduced the same poor quality of bass reproduction as mine, so it's an 11-46 thing, not my 11 thing. Hey ho

On a different note the Beolit 12 is getting better and better from a wireless point of view, and I actually prefer its warmer sound to my A8! The H6's are fantastic and I almost lost them in a pub after showing them to a friend. Everyone who tried them on was very impressed and now know the B&O brand.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

My mother in laws Avant is way more impressive than the 11 we have. We visited the other day, and both my wife and I commented that it was exactly what we expected a Beovision to sound like.

What's the difference between the 11-40 and 11-46 sound systems? I haven't experienced anything like the problems you describe Chris.

I hope not. It's not the volume, at a certain bass resonance it just doesn't accept its a flat screen TV with its therefore audio limitations. I never had this with the 10, and it's speakers were less capable!

Hopefully getting it sorted next week :-/

Oh well - come and get mine ( Avant 32"RF), you are welcome anytime.

Noone pays (much) for these oldies in Denmark nowadays.

Some are even driven to the dump/recycling sites, or given away for nothing.

Sorry - even f the Avant-sound is good, I would prefer the sound of the BV11 anytime.

Don't know what/how you are hearing 🔊

Don't you think there is a problem with your specific set? Have you tried going to a store with a DVD of yours and see if you get the same issue?

I have already done this with the set in the dealership. Same settings, same BluRay, same result!

I'd agree with Chris that my old BV7's audio hasn't been bettered. BV7 with 7.4 and ALT speakers (ie BL9s) produced a superb audio experience, even for regular TV! 7.4 was superb for speech, BL9s superb for movie explosions.
