I took this from the german bay. The arm cover on this ad seems weird.. Was it ever sold like this or is this a prototype?

Look like a transport safety clamp that wasn't stripped off before the photo was taken.
It seems to provide a solid rest for the carriage onto the aluminum surface, which makes perfect sense for transporting.

Thanks Martin, it does make sense...

Although in that case, it's strange that  the small window for the tracking force adjustment remains. Also, that windows is too far from the right side of the cover compared to the original. But it might be because of the thickness of the clamp...
