Since EU run 233 V nowaday, it has come to my concern about the trafo coil setting.

Are there anyone out there that set the machines to 240 volt for safety reasons ?

My concern came to me the other day when the 3 recent replaced scale lamps died one by one in my lovevly kitchen system, beomaster 900.

Do we have a general 233 problem ?

when it comes to traditional lamps 6 % increased voltage, will dramaticly lower the lifespan, and all the other circuits that is not fed from stabilazors will all have higher voltage then they were designed for if the machines are set to 220 ?

Any thoughts, experiences ?

Hi,

I now always use the 240V setting, because feeding the 220V coil with 235V (what I have) slightly stresses the transformer and in the worst cases it will produce buzz from the iron.

For instance, a buzzing Beogram 4200 went completely silent after altering this setting.

As far as amplifiers are concerned, nothing to worry about, it won't disturb anything significantly.
