Although there is a Saab thread in the lifestyle section, I thought that these comments from 3 1/2 years ago, just before it all went pear shaped again for Saab, were of general interest regarding the markets that Saab and B&O should be focussing on.

The 1991 B&O corporate aims are listed:

1. Authenticity – bringing the greatest achievable results to the consumer.
2. Autovisuality – B&O corporate identity exists within the designs of the products they create.
3. Credibility -Don’t oversell the product through marketing and discounts. Instead let the beauty and quality of the product speak for itself.
4. Domesticity – Create a product that is capable of being used by everyone. Make the product look simple and sleek and not overtly displaying its technological prowess.
5. Essentiality – Don’t overburden the systems with unnecessary additions. Only provide the user the basic functions that they need. “Less is more.”
6. Inventiveness – Creating something unseen by the market. Making something that the consumer didn’t even know they have to have until they saw it.
7. Selectivity – Do not create for the masses, instead design for those customers considered to be high-end audiophiles

Do B&O still follow these aims?

Certainly wouldn't have guessed No. 7!!

I get the "not-for-the-masses" bit, but it completely slipped me by that they were aiming for the "high-end audiophile".....the marketeers must have been particularly obscure on that one!Big Smile

Ban boring signatures!

No they don't follow that list.

It is from 1991, but I think they stopped following that list a long time ago.

Too long to list....
