From http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/the-folded-record-bureau-turntable-record-shelf-magazine-shelf-in-one-193538I realize that there are different opinions about what levels of mods that ethicly is okey. For myselfI havent really defined what mods I accept.I do think ingeneral terms that orginal is to strive for, but have considered some mods to make it easier for connecting external modern units to older B&O products. For this design, I think it is lovevly. What do you think, and what levels of mod, do you think is acceptable to a B&O product.
My re-capped M75 are my precious diamonds.

IMHO (and I consider myself a purist...) as long as the item is not the last one in existence, it is free game for the owner to do what he wishes with it. I do reserve myself the right to laugh at ridiculous ideas, though.
I'm not too hot on the design cues on the creation you posted - it looks messy to me, not at all like a clean Nordic design that would complement the B&O ethos - but it is a brilliant idea and seems beautifully done. A little fewer non-parallel surfaces, and I would quite enjoy it.

Interesting design. The picture is not hi res so I can't see but is the panel in front of the platter an amplifier control? And have the kept the suspension intact on the record player?
I don't have a problem with this type of adaptation at all -if well done it can be extremely thought provoking.

I try to keep it as original as possible, but its your items, you do what you want with them, the mod shown in the pic is one of the more elegant solutions.
As I have some extra turntables, and a Jukebox, I´m thinking about converting a BG into a Jukebox player, not a B&O mod, more like a jukebox mod.
The Jukebox is a Mexican made Wurlitzer Sinfonola from 70/71, and the pickup is a Vinyl killer, and I want to keep my 45s in good shape.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
It looks like a nice piece of craftsmanship.
The other way you could look at this: I wonder what condition the original casing was in? Could it be more a case of a salvaged turntable rather than a butchered one?

For every year B&O have released seomthing, they have always changed my mind about design.I would have taken this directly for a B&O product, becuase of the fact I have never seen anything like it.To be first innoative with an idea, think has very often been the core of B&O.Was it Beomaster 3000 that had a speaker input ? , to improve the sound from a TV ?, The core of the home cinema concept already inthe 70th. Was that seen before ?Then what you personally like is so individually.... I am very english-american in my home interior design, to be a nordic person, but I still like the design of B&O, maybe contradiction, maybe not
