An excellent idea, although it's not redesigning the A9 but it's frets right?

If it's got right, and soon, with the correct media coverage this will be a unique winner. Just wish I had an excuse to get one.

Didn't it just receive the French tips / ombré treatment?

Actually to be honest to add a designer edge to the Beoplay A9, they might need to collaborate with an established designer or artist or even brand for it to work. Perhaps Fornasetti or Missoni for the grill? I know B&O wants to seem young and hip but it's a luxury corporate brand not a boutique hotel. The previous many faces grill on the A8 was not so hot even despite the fact that it won a competition, it looked like a ripoff of a Lanvin iPhone cover or a Kitsune Maison compilation cover.

Supporting young new talented musicians that have potential yes but not students for the design that's what I think. But maybe it will work this time!

I'd make it far more open source, and make frets to suit the local tastes etc. A Rastafarian version for the Brixton branch, a black and white fret for Newcastle and a Burberry one for Hull.

Joking aside, how many footballers would buy these in their colours. Whatever it cost would be made by 10-20 sales surely?

.....or an internet "print your own fret" service and then you needn't inflict someone else's bad taste on everyone!

Maybe even something a reseller could investigate, e.g. take a plain white fret along to a "print your own tshirt" shop - who knows!!!

Could also do red and white ones but it would mean sawing off the legs to be low enough to look right.

On a more serious note, with the 10 examples shown there really isnt enough left to "design" to make a big enough difference, I looked at them and thought ....meh!!

The A9 is the design, the subtle changes make little difference.

That's so cool! I think I will do a custom.

btw is the A9 selling super well? There seem to be quite a bit of buzz surrounding it.
