After putting on new belt, I realized that the the tape mechanism still didnt work. The big pull coils ( I am bad with the english terminology about parts )clicked but returned to default without any movement on the tape. So I found this thread., and realized I had this problem, did as described.http://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/25412/193435.aspxMechanism was slightly better but still very stiff, so I spend some time trying figure out what it could be.
what I found was that the pinch roller arm was almost completly stuck.Actually I had to jerk quite hard to get it off.Cleaned it and put on some sewing machine oil.. This made the arm to move easier, but still worrying hard. So i thought that maybe that oil have to much friction to this tiny gap, so I cleaed it again and instead used a WD40 spray and that made a difference.Result was better but arm not as smoothas I thought it would be.Then I sprayed just a little bit WD 40 carefully into the big moving parts from anangle where the spray hopefull wouldnt reach the wheels, and started to manually work the mechanism back and forward, and slowly i felt enough difference to start assamble everything back..Forgot to say that before deassamble joints and wheels, I did a dry cleaning with quetips and removed all kinds of decades of messy dirt form the mechanism.when I assembled the cassettholder, it didnt wan to stay in lockeddown ,but found that the upper screw holder, se image below, have a small cap for adjusting, turned on and all together my work was enough to get normal operation of the tape transport.IT WORKS AGAIN !The BC7700 which I bought with faulty tuner and cassettpart, is now fully operational. The clock seems to not remember its setting, maybe a lithium battery somewhere, but for now.....I have a BC7700 that playes what it should play..I still feel quet rusty with mechanics and electronics as it is more then 2 decades it was my professionn, and did this work regulary, so I am very slow with my work, and very slowly recovering knowledgeAll together I have spent many many nervous hours on this machine, but certainly worth it.
