Hello,

Hope someone can help with the sound problem , I have a bv5  and is m/l to a bs3000 and beolab 6000, as I am not using the surround outputs on the bv5 and just press list  /av  on the beo4 and get the tv sound thru the beolab 6000! Only issue is it seems to have a slight sound delay when watching I.e film/ DVD/sky is this due to bv5 being fitted with surround module , as when used with my bv3 (no surround mod fitted) it is perfect no probs

Is there any fix for this,  I get no problems when playing music thru the system the same way as above ,

Only when watching film/DVD etc

Thanks for any info you kind folks have Big Smile

Beovision 7 40 mk 5 ,beovision 6x3,   beosound 3000, beogram 3300 , 2 x lc2, 2 x beocom 1401, beocom 6000 x 2,  5 x beo4,

, 4 x beolab 4's, form 2, h2, a2,a1 and a beolab 2 😀😀

Short answer is - connect the BL6000 to BV5 (which by the way makes it easier to handle the sound).

(Edit - Millemissen beat me to it Big Smile )

This is to do with the sound delay to sync with the picture on the TV when the video is processed for the screen. Sound is easier to process and quicker so has to be delayed to sync. (my simple version of the process)

There was quite a lot about that issue in the old forums. (google search Beovision sound delay) - but rest assured it is nothing to do with the surround module :o)

The best thing is to connect the speakers to the TV rather than the BS3000 and then they will play fine for your video sources. When you use your BS3000 to play CDs etc there won't be a delay when played through the TV (as there is no video to process). You can then use the BV5 speakers and the BL6000s for music.

You'll need to set up the speakers in the BV5 "sound" menu to tell the TV the speakers are attached (BL6000 will be on the list) and you will probably have to change the "option" on the TV and BS3000. You may have to add something to the Beo4.

My BV5 has 4 Beolab Pentas attached, DVD2 and a BS9000. When you press DTV it plays through all speakers, BS9000 does not turn on. When you press DVD it is the same, all speakers work and BS9000 does not turn on. Press CD or Radio and the BS9000 turns on and all speakers work (inc TV speaker - TV light goes green but screen does not turn on).

Don't forget - you will have to configure 'Audio-default' as speaker 4 (or even 5), unless you want to chooe it manually eery time.

 "no sound from bv5 "

What was the problem there? It may help others to know how to fix that! Smile

Yes, the problem was that when you were listening to music I.e cd you were only getting sound from the bl6000 and nothing from the bv5 speakers!! Even when the bl6000 were connected to the bv5 , no issues with sound when watching DVD/sky only when you where listening to cd/radio/aux on the bs3000

What was required was , you have to activate the bv5 speaker thru the list button on the beo4 till  "speaker" appears  then pressing 3 , it allows all speakers to work .

Hi :-)

Could you please explain how you go about configuring 'audio-default' as speaker 4 please?

i have a similar set up to you guys in this thread (BV5 /penta labs/8000's & BS9000). All 4 speakers are connected to BV5 and BV5 connected to 9000 via masterlink cable. But when I switch on any source, audio or DTV, only the fronts (Penta's) active, and the BL8000's remain in stand by. I'm having to manually turn them on via List-speaker-4.

Can i configure so all 4 speakers always come on? If so, could you explain how to do that please?

Thanks very much & regards,

Michael

I'm not sure the software on the BV5 supports that option... ( I could be wrong though - I'm not in front of a BV5)

I know that the later software on the BV7/BV9 gives you the option to select default speaker options for Audio and Video (for example "Speaker 4 for Audio / Speaker 5 for Video) - but I don't recall the BV5 SD supporting this...
