I’m pleased to announce that there are new appropriate foamrings available for the penta mid-drivers. As promised.
Almost 2 years ago I contacted Fred Buijst from Audiofriends in Holland. I discovered that Fred is a very knowledgeable man with lots of expertise about replacing foam or rubber rings from a great vary of drivers of different brands. Fred understands the importance of the correct measurements and used materials, like foam or rubber.
So I asked for his help and vision about the penta mids. This resulted in several meetings/measurements and finally 3 different samples.
Finally there has been choosen for a foamring, which (practically)measures the same dimensions as the original rings. Same diameters and width of the roll. When these rings are used, they “feel” the same as an original driver when bought at the dealers.
After several hours of warming up/playing and listening, I got more exicted about these rings. As the dimensions are spot on, placing these rings will give your drivers the looks of a new one.
So, feel free to contact Fred at www.audiofriends.nl or by email: audiofriends@tiscali.nl if you’re interested in these rings.
He has also a page at eBay, but I don’t know if that’s allowed to place here.
FYI, I don’t have shares or other benefits from Audiofriends. Nothing.
My only goal was to find an appropriate replacementring for the penta mids and the option to offer a complete programme for the ones who bring in their penta’s for a complete overhaul and/or upgrade.
