"Hi,
We are happy to announce that we now have the second batch of MammutBox:es on the way in and expect to ship your box on January 31st. As you have previously registered for the Beta program, we want to confirm your order. To confirm your order, just reply to this message with "yes" and enter your shipping address. Basically, what you will get is;
* MammutBox with final or near final hardware design (see http://www.mammutbox.com/beta/ for some pictures)
* 30 days cancellation policy; if you're not happy just return the box
* Free software upgrades to final software release
* Support to help you get started and configured
Due to EU radio regulations, we cannot ship the boxes with built-in RF as hoped. If you would want to control radio-based light systems (e.g., Nexa, Jula, IKEA etc.) we offer you to purchase a Tellstick at a discounted price (30 EUR / 300 SEK) or use one of your own (any USB-based Tellstick will work directly with MammutBox).
For Swedish customers we will ship your box together with an invoice payable within 30 days (SEK 3450:- including VAT & shipping). For international customers we will require advance payment (EUR 350 including VAT, excluding shipping). Please email us for details and shipping costs to your country."
The lightmanager pro does a lot of this for less money - I am very pleased with mine and have just order several more RF sockets to control additional lighting! http://cms.jbmedia.de/
it is actually stated in the post above - the price is SEK3495 or about USD550
Based on the size and the position of the connectors It sure looks like the hardware platform is based on Raspberry PI, which mean the hardware platform should be pretty robust, so it all come down to the software.
I´m looking for something like this for our home. Is the lightmanager only compatible with their own proprietary products or can I control my Nexa lightswitches, Mac and Sonos system as well?Any input would be appreciated.
Should work with Nexa, Mac, Sonos.
Read the FAQ. http://www.mammutbox.com/FAQ.jsp
Does anybody have experience with this (these) box(es)?
Thanks
Stefan
it is stated on the home page of the "light manager" that it controls nexa, but it has no IR transmitter, so Mac and Sonos is not a target for it. and if you want to control the mac and sonos via wifi, you don't need the light manager.
regarding mamutbox, it seems that it is not possible to buy one currently...
Thanks for your advice,Sadly the light manager is not for me then.
I´ve spoken to the guys at Mammutbox and a "Mammutbox IR" version of the box is on it´s way to me.Have you tested it?
Apparently they are up and running again, after the last posts I got an e-mail from them that I can order now if still interested.
Hope some of you guys will get back with your first impression of the mammutbox, IR reception and functionality, e.g. long press, macro, toggle on/off and so on.
