Why is their corporate motto written on the wall in English?

I guess it's because it is an international Company.

Foreign visitors wouldn't understand if it was written in Danish... ;-)

I was wondering if it was easily changeable to whatever language the current crop of visitors spoke. Really though, it is a bit odd even if English is a pretty international language.

But, it's better than Esperanto!

I think those are Metal letters, glued to the wall -or nailed, or whatever. They cannot just change them whenever new visitors come around...

And most people understand English. Think about in the Middle East or Japan -there you'll often see signs with English text beneath their own characters/language.

So I figured, I was just pulling your leg. They look the same as my house numbers, and I know what a bear they were to mount on brick.

See the comment at the bottom. Although clearly written by an ignoramus, this a stereotype you hear time and again about B&O. Ironically the article is exactly what is needed to get the message across, so as to prove otherwise.

Yeah, that was a moronic comment. B&O is what happens when you value great design as well as excellent sound, and IMO its the only choice if you do. I can go to the local rent to own furniture place and get a functional if homely glass coffee table, or I can pay more and get a Noguchi coffee table that is better made and much, much more stylish, enough so that it's an icon of design. Same with B&O. I like having a CD player that's been on display in MOMA. Its not just a CD changer, it's a work of art.

Maybe he's not such an ignoramus. Perhaps his comment refers to his wife's excellent taste and high requirements for sound quality. Give him the benefit of the doubt. Wink

And English is a compulsory subject in Danish schools (I believe, from Soren)

I almost beat you too it by posting just that as a comment in the mag. Then I thought if she had such traits she wouldn't be married to him, instead Beoworld!

I never take much notice of comments online - or from one or two users on here - as forums give users the ability to say things you'd never to say to someone face-to-face or in a store. They give people a platform. They also allow idiots with half a brain to have a quick personal dig.

The British comedian Matt Lucas put out a funny tweet yesterday that he was going to charge users to subscribe to his tweets (impossible of course, but it was a joke). He lost 1000 followers and received a ton of abuse, again using words someone would never use to your face. Shows the mentality of certain internet users though :)

In my experience, B&O is a brand where you have to spend serious time convincing your wife the products are worth purchasing, not the other way around!
