Hi guys,

After getting my Beomaster 8000 running again with your help, I thought it would be nice to get the Beogram working as well.

The problem I'm having is this:

As soon as I plug it in, the TT starts to rotate, displays 33.33. It responds to the speed controls (+,-,45,33), but it does not respond to any of the other buttons. Every time I plug it in, the tone arm moves to the right a little until it reaches the micro switch. When it arrives in this position it won't start playing when plugged in, but remains in standby like it should. When I hit play the tone arm moves to the left about a centimetre and stops there. From here on out it is non-responsive to anything other than the speed controls.

I have just finished replacing the caps but unfortunately, it didn't improve the situation. Quite strange because I did find a cap that was completely blown in the microprocessor housing. I am testing in the service position, but I assume this should not be the cause of the problems.

Any ideas on what to check?

Hi did you ever get to the bottom of your beogram problem, the reason is my beogram 6006 is now doing the exact same thing.

Thanks chris

Check the soldering you did when you replaced the caps and the continuity of the related PCB tracks.
Did you resolder the CPU socket too ?
Check that the negative pin of the cap inside the processor housing has good continuity to the housing itself
(directly soldered or through a PCB track).
