Good evening

I am considering a new NAS for my documents, photos and media files.

These two models are left in the seach, they are both with HDMI output and IR-remote. They both contain XBMC software.

http://www.asustor.com/product?p_id=20&lan=en

http://www.qnap.com/uk/index.php?lang=en-uk&sn=5050&c=2485&sc=2491&t=2512&n=14600&g=1

I haven't been able to get B&O to create a specific PUC-file to either of the models.

Can anyone tell me if a PUC code from another device will fit to one of these NAS models?

How will I find out w/o a test (which will require that I buy one)

I have a BV11, but I am not impressed by the way it presents the content on the NAS (one long list of artists etc. and no search function).

Thanks for your usefull comments

Normally XBMC on all Windows and OpenELEC based PC's are controlled with Microsoft MCE remote. There is a PUC for it. I would google first if the Qnap and Asustor use the same ir-commands.

However, I prefer the "Official XBMC Remote" on my iPad.

There exists a PUC code for the QNAP at least.

This PUC is for the Qnap mediaplayer, which is not available in the shops anymore.

Are the remote codes not the same or similar?

A PUK code is needed when you have to reset your PIN number. Your PIN number protects your SIM card and if you forget it or repeatedly type in the wrong number you will need a PUK code to get it working again. PUK stands for Pin Unlocked Key (or PUC – Personal Unlocking Code).

We are talking about B&Os PUC (Peripheral Unit Controller) in here.
