Just bought some B&O kit in New York.

A pair of beolab 9's, BV 7-55 and beosound encore. The TV will be here next week.

I can install all the components myself, however i hate wires running all over the place and would like to have a professional installer hide all the wires and mount the encore on the wall.

However calling bang and olufsen, they offered to send out a guy who's gonna charge 200 dollars/hour. Asking how long the job would take i was told about 4-6 hours!!!!

thats potentially 800 - 1200 dollars to hide wires; which im not willing to spend for that.

What do you guys recommend? Will any local installer be able to do a good job? Those in NYC area, how did u do ur setup or who did u use?

I can't recommend a specicific installer but there are several advertising on Craigslist - e.g. here.   On their website they mention cable concealment as one of their services and they have great reviews at yelp.com.  Good luck.

If you can terminate the cat7 is say do it yourself

The cat7 cables and connectors are quite expensive so the 200/he would be in addition to those extra costs. The real question is whether or not you are connecting all is the items together via masterlink it network link.

Masterlink is a punch down and VERY easy to do.

Im connecting the BV 7  and a beosound encore to a bosscom adapter and that to the beolab 9's. No masterlink involved. All im looking for is a NEAT installation.

I was turned off with the B&O dealers in New York as they were all quoting me $600-$1000 just to install the TV (essentially put together the stand and place the TV on it), so try calling B&O in Summit, NJ and get a quote. They were very reasonable dollar wise. I did not have them do any hidden wiring, just a basic setup, so i cannot comment on how good they would be. Or as MediaBob mentioned a professional installer may be the way and probably charges half the rate, but would not necessarily know how to set up the system.

One thing i would say is that the equipment is all very heavy and you need two people to set it up. I bought an 11-55 and that weighs a lot less than a 7-55 and it was still difficult to handle.
