Would a 7-2 benefit from a pair of 8002s?

Hi all,

After a while away I'm happy to be back into the B&O addiction!

I have a 7-40 with a 7-2 and find the sound to be fantastic, and more than enough for an apartment where I have to be neighbour conscious. Having said that, I always fancied a pair of 8000s and am currently zeroing in on a pair of 8002s (may as well go for the best of breed!). What are the opinions on this setup? Would I see a real benefit in terms of TV/movie sound or would I need to budget for a pair of BL9s to feel a benefit?

You would see - or rather hear - a real benefit with the BL800x, yes!

Yip. I had that setup 7-2 with BL8000's (also had a BL2 connected) and much better than 7-2 standalone.

Re BL9's, currently have those with my BV11 and they are superb.

The BL9's surely would be even better - the neighbours will be impressed, I guess!

Oh I'm sure they would!

For the size of my place I'd say the BL9s would provide the best sounds the room could accommodate, but a bit out of my reach right now + I can get a great deal on the 8002s. Hopefully in the future I can get a pair and use the 8002's for the rear channels or for another room.

So the next question is whether to connect the 8002's to the BV7-40 or to my BS3000 which lives in the same room?
