Hi all,
I need some of your expertise. Below a picture of a beovox s45 I'm looking to buy, but the wiring seems funny to me. Are the wires like this on all s45's?
Thx!
Welcome to Beoworld !
No!These were modified by someone, who didn't know what he was doing - or why.Normally, you will connect using the countersunk female DIN connector (the single lower hole, offset from center). The DIN connector is by far adequate for this speaker but there are some owners who claim to be able to hear a differencewhen bypassing the DIN. Pure placebo if you ask me.The other two holes (where the ugly leads come out now) are normally threaded for use with floorstand or wallbrackets.
Oh, and these are Beovox S45.2 rather than S45.This doesn't make them any less desireable, though.

Thnks for the reply Martin! I feared as much. I wonder what else was changed inside... I will go check it out, who knows, it might only be a funny wire.
Probably one of them hilarious "audiophile" conversions. If it's just the leads then I'm sure, it can be changed back to original.Pull out the woofers and take a look at the filter boards.Handle the speakers and the woofers carefully and don't forget to glue those magnets or they will shift!
