I have been in the process of diagnosing and hopefully repairing a fault on my vintage Avant 28 8333. Still one of the best crt sets available.

Keith Saunders has been very helpful in narrowing down the problem and we finally found a G1 to K short which I was able to remove by creating a test jig based on the Sencor CRT tester.

I now have a set with no G1 to K short but an almost invisible grey picture (raster). There is no video content in the picture and unless you looked closely at the screen you would not realise the raster  was there.

Am looking for one or two more pointers to see if this set is recoverable.

I am a retired electronics engineer so have general knowledge but not specifically associated with TV.
