HDR1 and Beovision 8

I have lived with HDR1 and Beovision 6 in one room and it worked perfectly. I have moved the HDR to the other room and connected with Beovision 8. Now the timer recording does not work (though it is possible to set up everything, the actual recording does not start).

I have checked at the product page  that HDR1 does this with older TVs, so it may be the case for this setup too.

1. Is that indeed so?

2. What is the limitation? The recording goes through V.Tuner, so I do not understand how TV can affect that?

3. Is there the simple way to upgrade the HDD to 250G by just formatting it in NTFS (?) and replacement?
