Just floundering around trying to setup up my new 7-55 and i note there is an Ethernet port. Mentions in the handbook about automatic updates.

Can anyone confirm that if i connect my 7-55 to my router by Ethernet, then it will receive updates automatically?

Regards Chris(its massiveYes - thumbs up)

Hi Chris,

with the ethernet port you can only update the software of the internal bluray player and use Bluray live (if supported by Bluray).

You cannot update the software of BV 7-55 itself, this can only be done by dealer.

The Ethernet port on the 7 series is for Blu-ray interactive support and to update the Blu-Ray sw only. Not the whole chassis as with the new Sys4 based products.

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there
