Recently I was "gifted " a BV7 with a  powersurge problem it's a Mk 3. I have absolutly no responce to remote control ro pushing the DVD button.  I have followed the fault flow diagram from serv manual  eliminating the status display PCB as I fitted it to another bv7-32mk1 that is fully functional, with either displays fitted. I have the 5v STBY supply at the status PCB on the mk3 but no responce to remote. My question is this is it possible to exchange the EEPROM chassis with the two ribbon that go to the av switch PCB to see if it starts up or will this damage the EPROM and render both tv's useless . One other point I have noted , on the mk1 as soon as the mains power plug is connected to the power supply PCB the 2 fans self test  three times for approx 4 secs each time .... On the Mk 3 nothing happens the used too occasionally attempt to but now nothing , where is the ic that controls the fans ... Any help much apprechiated

Regards maurice
