Hi all
Need some help here.
I put a disc in the CDX2 it spins briefly then stops and just shows a ? mark at the right of the display.
It worked perfectly a few weeks ago.
The owners manual doesn't give any help so advice you can give will be appreciated.
Regards
John
I had this exact problem with a CDX-2 and a B&O dealer told me I'd need a complete new motherboard. Don't believe it for a minute.
This is a common problem and has been described here on Beoworld before. Most likely due to cracked solder joints. This thread explains 1 members successful repair of a CDX with the exact same symptoms:
http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/1991/17091.aspx#17091
The laser is normally strong on these and the problem is likely to be this solder joint problem or another electronic component problem - possibly on the same board.
Dave.
What Dave said. And replace capacitors on the servo board.Note : At least one of the caps MUST be of a certain type or it can't be guaranteed to work.(A cap kit exists for this)

Thanks for your advice but the problem is now solved!
I put the same disc in my Philips CD850 and it played. Then I tried another disc in the Beogram and it played perfectly.
Just tried the Beogram again and it plays the problem CD perfectly now!
So hopefully no work is needed for the time being.
I suggest you bookmark this thread.
Nice to hear but you don't know the reason for the first problem - which will undoubtedly be one of the reasons given above. It may play today, but I guarantee, it will show the same symptoms again soon as just playing the CD again has not fixed the problem.
As Martin says, bookmark this thread as you will need to refer to it again sometime in the future.
