Primarily for the US market but not exclusively.220-240V versions were produced.A very nice addition to any B&O collection. I've owned a prototype.
Martin
Have two in my collection.
Brengen & Ophalen
Much better to simply buy a Beovision if in the UK/EU. Made for the US market when B&O TVs were limited and they wanted to reach the audio market.

I've still got mine...a decent Dolby Pro Logic decoder, but sonically inferior to just connecting my BS9000 directly to the BL8000s. Currently mine is holding a shelf down in the closet.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
There have been about 4 or 5 on eBay in the last month or two. I don't think they're that hard to come by but are they of any use?
Dave.
You'd get better results by plugging your cables into a tree stump.

Not really but it looks so nice with the other pizza boxes.
The AV7000 has multiple RCA jack inputs, input from a DIN connector (used with a ML Convertor), Front and Rear L and R outputs via Powerlink, and a mono 45 watt amp for a center channel. It does stereo, mono center, Dolby Pro Logic, Pro Logic 3 (3 front channels only). Has bass/treble/balance controls, and level trimming for the 5 speakers, it also has a sub out via RCA jack.
I remember a time when the AV7000 was the only option in the US to integrate our B&O music systems with our TV to achieve a "home theater" setup. At that time, BeoVisions were still unheard of in the U.S. As I recall, the retail price for one was around $3000 to $4000. I remember thinking how I got an amazing deal from my dealer back then when he sold me a second hand one for $1000!
I cannot emphasize strongly enough how HORRIBLE the video processing was. The video became horribly over-saturated. Also, it required your tv to have a video out (which hardly any tv had at that time) for the processor to detect if there was a video source. Ridiculous.
Another unfortunate shortcoming of the AV7000 was that although it was designed to match the other components in the 7000 line, adding the AV7000 to your setup would remove the 2-way functionality of your BeoSystem 7000 system and render it to merely one-way control.
One redeeming feature of the AV7000 is that is has a (very limited) PUC that could control a few select VCR players, DVD players, set-top boxes, and TVs. That was the introduction to the US of the concept of having just one remote to control everything. Universal remotes were not as prevalent back then and we never had SCART.
I never even tried to run video thru mine, I just used it to process audio from the TVs outputs. I'd forgotten about the IR blasters and PUC though, never used that feature either.
