I've recently purchased a Beosystem 5500 (all 4) with 2 Penta Mk2 speakers. It played well for 2 days then when on standy the Beogram 5500 turntable light comes on and stays on. Once on this light seems to heralds another problem as the Beomaster becomes totally unresponsive to master control panel or physical commands. When the Beogram is completely unplugged from the Beomaster the reset of the system seems to work perfectly. I thought I could be the piston issue with the Beogram but the motor ,turntable and any other of the Beogram buttons should still work and they don’t.

Can anyone help a newbie?

Will both the Beogram and the Beomaster work normally if not connected together ?

Hi

Only the Beomaster works when not connected. The Beogram does not.

Are there any signs of life at all from the Beogram ?
What happens if you place a record on the platter and press start ?
Any light, rotation, activity at all ?

The only thing that happens is the back light comes on. Nothing else happens works non of the buttons not even the light on the needle arm.   I've looked at the fuse by the power transfromer and it's intact.   I'm puzzeld on what the problem could be?
