Is it possible to have a Beocenter 2 and Beosound 9000 in the same setup. Can the audio (CD, Radio) part of the Beocenter be used in that case?

Connectivity - what an issue with B&O! I would have thought you'd have had an answer by now. My understanding from previous posts is that you cannot have 2 audio masters in a link set-up. Maybe someone can confirm that. But, will it not depend on what you have the BC2 and BS9000 connected to and what inputs it has? I also assume you have the BC2 DVD not just the BC2 Audio?
Is it possible to connect the BC2 via Masterlink and the BS9000 via digital out or vice-versa if your TV has digital input. Or, use the line out connections on the BC2 and the CTRL socket direct to the TV (as in the user manual)?
I hope you get a definitive answer from someone as I'd be interested to know as I was hoping to do something similar.
Dave.
It has always been the case that you cannot have two audio master as part of the same Masterlink system.
I recall there was a software update for BeoSound Ouverture that enabled it to be used as a local audio product within an ML set up. There would be one audio master which would work as standard throughout the installation. The Ouverture (with the correct sw) could then either access the sources from the main room (audio master) or from its own sources via Powerlink but only in that room. The Ouverture in the local room couldn't play its sources to the rest of the link system.
The other scenario involved BeoSound4 as an audio master. You could play one source in the main room via Powerlink and a different source at the same time via the Masterlink connection.
Neither of these answer the OP but maybe it will kick start the thread.

To be more precise, I have a Beosound 9000, and have recently upgraded from a BV7-32 to a BV10-46.
I sometime miss the DVD player, to read my old DVDs.
I could buy a BluRay player, and control it with the PUC, but I am not really planning to buy BluRay disks, as I'll get new films from iTunes or else.
I could connect a DVD1 player that you can get cheap on eBay.
Or... I could connect a Beocenter 2, as it looks really nice and I love the angel wings.
I believe I read there was a way to get both to coexist, maybe by only using the DVD part of it.

That is exactly the point - using it as a DVD player is possible.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Wouldn't it be easiest to disable IR reception via option Setting (BC2), attach it via scart only to the tv and use it "manually" e.g. by pushing the buttons of the unit?
If I watch a movie, I don't stop, forward etc. that often...
Ralf
PS: I would follow the advice of getting a DVD1/DVD2 or a PUC controllable Player so that some money after selling the BC2 is free to spend on other B&O purchases...

I believe the BC2 DVD is controllable through the scart, like a DVD1 or DVD2.
I do not have it yet, but was wondering if it would be a good idea/possible idea.
Oh.. and I need to add that I have been trying to run the PCG (product configuration guide) software to see what it came up, but for some reason, and for the first time its window looks strange and is unusable... so no help there!
But can I use the two devices without problems (in my case BS3000 and BC2) when they are in different rooms?BC2 in the living room, BS3000 in the bedroom. Is it possible to connect each other with Masterlink and access local as well as link-sources?So: BC2 CD-Player in the bedroom with the BS3000 and local connected speakers? And when I want to listen to N.Music from the Beomaster in the living room it should be accessible via the BS3000, too?
It's working if you for ex have bc2 as audiomaster and bc9000 in linkroom option (maybe new sw needed) bc 9000 can only play localy or you can have bc9000 audiomaster and bc2 as linkroom Product for play local
or you can connect bc2 to videomaster only thru scart and it will function as dvd1
