Hi All,

Can I plug the pre-outs on my beomaster 5000 into line in inputs on say an amp\av receiver?

The reason being I'm looking for ways to integrate the old (B&O) with the new (Sonos:connect and TV). My idea is that I get an amp\av receiver; plug in the Sonos, plug in the TV so it use external speakers, plug in the beomaster pre-outs. This should let me control B&O cd player and turntable with beomaster but have just one set of speakers for all sources.

Does that make sense?

Cheers,

Tony

Yes, that would work, but it would be a variable level output subject to the volume setting on the Beomaster. Another option could be to use the outputs from the in/out loop. That's a fixed level output, but if you use the output from that option without a return signal to the input, you won't be able to run the MCL speakers. If you can use the loop fully, you would have all the options available. Sonos, main speakers, and MCL speakers.

Hi, thanks for the info.... Not sure what you mean by mcl speakers?  I'd only have speakers attached to second stage amp\av receiver and use that to control volume etc.

MCL = master control link

He means remote link room speakers controlled via an MCL kit

Hi Elephant,

Ah I see, I don't have any of those, I'll just have speakers attached to the second stage amp\av receiver in the same room. I keep saying amp\av receiver as i'm undecided on 5.1 or to go with 2.1

The reason for all this thinking, is that I want to improve the TV sound, I could just add a soundbar for that and keep the B&O and Sonos connected as they are, but to me it makes sense to have the one set of speakers for everything.... does that make sense?

Cheers,

Tony
