Beosound 2 not responding

I have  a Beosound 2 that was working fine and from one day to the next stopped working.

The dock station light stays orange when the Beosound is docked.

Any suggestion other than visiting a B&O shop?

Seems to be a charging problem ?

I found the charger's cables very susceptible to internal breakage.

If you left it on for 24 hours did it eventually charge?

While it is connected to the stand does it perform to spec (volume, stop, start, skip, producing output signal to the headset - or connected amp/speakers) ?

What might confirm whether it is a cable issue versus a battery issue.

I seem to recall someone once (on the older forums) actually did the battery replacement themselves -- however that's not something I would attempt myself, I would rather pay the service charge for piece of mind.  Although that charge used to be $100 just to tell you the BeoXxxx is truly buggered and irreparable .....

I don't really know. The docking station seems ok.

I left it on the docking station several days and no change.

The Beosound seems to be dead. It doesn't respond to any button while on the docking station or out of it. Just if I dock it the light stays orange.

 

I checked the SD card on my PC and it can be accessed. 

Does it exist any B&O Beosound 2 service manual?

There may be a service manual - I don't have one

I was able to completely dismantle the beosound 2 following the indications in the service manual. After cleaning the dust and the connections using a contact cleaner spray and reassembly everything works fine again.

I really really enjoy fiddling with B&O devices because they are engineered to be repaired. It is horrible to try to dismantle stuff from other brands and see how they break appart into pieces. That has to be taken into account when looking at the B&O price tags.
