A little bird showed me the new upcoming price list for the BV11, which would put the price of a 55" on par if not slightly lower than the new Avant (BV11 including Beo4 + Motorised stand).
Cuts ranged from 22 to 30%..
If that's the case, I will definitely get one to replace the BV10-46 and get an Avant when a MkII shows up.
I heard a rumour of this yesterday but I didn't think the cut was that deep .... it does give one cause to think; however the Avant still has the magic of movement !
BeoNut since '75
I bet Moxxey is going to be thrilled at that news!
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Hmmm....
I cannot say if this is true or not. However, if it wasn't true - I'd tell you.
That's all I'm saying...

Chris Townsend: I bet Moxxey is going to be thrilled at that news!
Indifferent to the news Chris. I'd have liked a BV11-55 before the Avant arrived, but B&O couldn't and wouldn't deliver. I'm not going to lose sleep on whether I have an Avant or BV11-55. Better things to worry about.
The Avant is absolutely fine and better than the BV11-55 for certain things (upscaled Blu-ray and so on), but worse for others (fast panning/motion on regular TV). At a guess, the latter will improved with a software update or two as the Oppo does a slightly better job upscaling than the Avant itself, so it's got to be a software issue. Based on previous B&O-software experiences, it takes them about 6 months or more to get it right (on release, all sorts of motion and panning issues on the BV7-40 MK3, for example).
Beovision 11-55, BeoPlay V1 40, Beosound 9000, Beolab 8000's and 3 Beocom 5's...
@ Gennaro..B&O will lose sales if Bv 11 is not up dated to 4k screen as that only leaves the Avant..What other tv's are in the range. So 4k Bv 11 is the way forward with the Avant.
Not sure about the 40 and 46 Bv 11 but both the Bv 11/55 and Avant 55 are top range B & O tv's now as nothing above them..Unless something above them is coming?????
Whats going on with the BS4 Stand Alone??? Will it ever have an 4K Upgrade? That would be fab....
Gennaro:I really hope this is true... Dying for a BV11 55. Do you guys really think that they'll put a 4K panel in it??
I had quotes from two dealers in two different countries - CH and the EU (for us in CH it's cheaper to get stuff tax-free from the EU and then pay the Swiss 8% VAT when importing - thanks to B&O imposing a standard FINAL price across countries).
The quote I got from the UK is ~5400 GBP for the 55" and ~4600 for the 46" excl. VAT (TV + Cover + Easel stand + Remote).
In May, the quote was ~7200 for the 55 and 5240 for the 46.
No. I think the Avant range will be the only '4K' B&O TV in the short-term. Trust me, you don't need a 4K panel.

There is no "BS4 standalone" as the device *only* existed to power the BV12, which is now cancelled. No need for an updated BS4.

Isn't it used to drive projectors as well?

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thats why i'd like a Bs 4k. for Projector or its the matrix muck around from the tv.. ie the Avant..
New models at lower prices are a much better marketing approach than cutting the price of current models. The latter strategy is bound to upset customers who have bought in the recent past, and probably much more than the occasional offer of, for example, free speakers. Free offers or upgrades are tolerated better by existing customers who expect that the normal pricing will continue at the end of the offer period. Price cutting just makes recent purchasers feel that they have been conned.
Thinking about this a bit further makes me think that we really are in an economic depression. The longer you wait to make your purchase the cheaper it will be. Some things like fuel and food are inflating but the things that are not necessities are deflating.

Yes, but you've got to see (the lack of incentive) from B&O's (small budget) perspective. How many of their customers walk in to a B&O store to buy a piece of kit to drive a non-B&O display? Less than 2%? I'd be surprised if it's that high. Besides, what third party display are you going to drive with it, in 2014? ie. wall-mounted Panasonic's are gone/on the way out and no-one is going to buy a BS4 4K to drive a £1K LG TV.

you might be right on that, but - on the other hand - if they now can produce the tv's at lower costs, why not let that lead to lower end prices.
It has always been argued that the BV's are too expensive. Now we finally get a situation, where this (if you consider what a BV is) is not true any more.
You might upset some 'older' costumers, but many (hopefully more) 'new' costumers will be pleased with the new prices.
And the 'old' costumers will benefit in the future from the new price structure as well.

I agree that it won't be many, but my comment want only meant to be an addition to the mentioning of the BSys4 as a driver for projectors.
I am sure it will depend on how many standalone units they sell in the next months, whether the BSys4 will be allowed to stay in the portfolio or not.

Excactly what I thought too... They simply had to lower the price of the BV 11 as the Avant came out. But I don't think they could make a BV 11 with 4K panel at a price near the Avant (not to say a lower price) - simply because the aluminum frame of the BV 11 is d...... expensive. And I don't think there will be a need for 4K screens smaller than 55".
So -as we all know by now - the Avant will later be available in sizes up to 85". And it would then be natural to have the BV 11 range with sizes up to 55" (in 'only' Full HD) - at a lower price range.
Just noticed a dealer in Stockholm is advertising a pricecut on BV11-46 from 71.900 SEK to 58.900 SEK. That is a 18% cut or 13.000 SEK.
BV11-55 is also reduced by 13.000 SEK, so obviously lower in percentage.

Samsung now have 4k 40" televisions for sale in the UK for a RRP of £900! Surely it can only be a matter of time before Samsung stop manufacturing non 4K screens for the BV11.
If £900 tvs are now marketed as 4K, it's crazy that the BV11 is not. The market dictates through sales and volume!

I think we're just assuming they are from Samsung based on history with their BV7-panel sourcing.
Based on my 4K experience with the Avant, I'd rather not have a 4K panel. Offers very little at the moment. 75% of the content looks better on the BV11-55 than the Avant. Motion/panning is still a minor issue on the Avant, due to on-the-fly upscaling to the 4K panel.
If I was considering a BV11-55, somewhat ironically I'd get in there now before it's 4K "upgraded".
I genuinely don't think people understand the downsides of utilising a 4K panel for regular TV.
Hi Moxxey,
I think that this is just a B&O problem as reviews of Panasonic, Sony & indeed Samsung 4K tvs express how wonderful the 4K upscaling is on many of these models!
But yes, as a piece of art, the BV11 looks incredible as does the BV10. Loved your comments on your BV10-32 - lovely set. I find it funny how people have these in their kitchens/bedrooms as for me, I wouldn't want anything larger in my living room :)
