Having a lot of trouble with the V1.  Coming from using Asian branded TVs I'm flummoxed by B&Os inability to do what I thought was common/basic functions.  Maybe someone on this forum can help.

Tried to stream Wimbledon from the BBC on the V1 using WebMedia.  Can't load Adobe Flash Player & told by B&O that B&O isn't compatible with Flash.  So tried hooking up my MacBook Air via HDMI to the TV.  Some picture lag but watchable.  Then the sound cut out ... then the picture got worse & worse.  So just tried the suggestion here to change picture mode to game and turned of the wlan.  Well that didn't make any difference at all (oh yea, tried different computers and cables and HDMI input jacks.)

So I was wondering:  is there a substitute flash player that I can install on the B&O that will trick the TV into playing Adobe Flash media?

And, is there some fix so that playing content from my MacBook Air to the TV via HDMI cable will actually work?

Thank you.

Flash is not always Flash on embedded systems. Its often a cut down version and does not playback consistently off of multi-core processor systems. You'll only really find the full-fat version on current Android devices or PC's - or the developer may use AIR.

I think its fair enough for vendors building systems to not include Flash with HTML5 being common place in most modern sites.

I wonder which (asian brand or not) tv can show BBC using flash in it's built-in browser.

I have had no problems with connecting a computer to my V1.

And by the way - welcome to Beoworld.

Yea and most sites are flexible, like usdrama.net; says you need Adobe Flash Player but then has a link to click if you don't have Flash (if I remember correctly I think it's called SimpleFlow player or something like that.)  But unfortunately the BBC are real stick-in-the-muds and will only play using Flash ... no built-in alternatives allowed it seems.  Ergo my question about Flash and then my follow on question about HDMI because that work around didn't work either.  Thank you.

We have a Panasonic back home that plays BBC no problem, so seamless in fact I didn't know that it could even be an issue.

And about my computer and V1, are you using a Mac ... maybe that's the problem, maybe B&O doesn't like Macs.  Unfortunately I don't have a PC to test my connection.

And thank you for the welcome.

On the Pana - do you use a built-in browser? Or an app?

My bad.  My wife just reminded me (and in no uncertain terms) that we didn't directly through to the Panasonic.  We played it through a Topfield.  That's why there weren't any issues with Adobe Flash.  Sorry that I got my assertions all wrong.

My bad.  My wife reminded me that we played the BBC live stream through our Topfield ... so not directly into the TV.  Sorry about that bit of misinformation.

I use MacBook Air.  Tried it with OS X 10.7.5, then I upgraded my Mac's software to  OS X 10.9.3.  But both had the same result.  My other Mac uses 10.8.  But again, same result.

Why not just connect the Topfield to the V1 for that purpose?

Looked into that.  But running a cable from Australia where my Topfield is to Denmark where I'm at now won't work it seemsWink

Thanks for the info.  I guess I don't get why mine doesn't work.  If it was just one computer and/or one cable I'd understand, but I've switched everything around, and it doesn't seem to make a difference.  Maybe I'll take my Mac and cable to the local retailer here and see if they can figure it out.
