Which fireplace for BeoLiving?

Now that I've mastered integrating light control with MLGW and Beo6, I'm interested in options for adding a fireplace into the BeoLiving concept. Could members please share their experiences with fireplaces integrated with B&O? How are you controlling them: via MLGW or direct Beo6 IR? In what ways are you using B&O to control your fireplace? Also, what brands/models have you found to match the physical beauty of B&O products? I live in a loft without access to a chimney, so I need a flu-less option.

Gazco Linea. Balanced flue straight through the wall. Relative has just bought a Gazco Riva Nemos. Gas powered wood burner look alike.

Remote controls. Probably controllable via Beo4 and Lintronic module but I haven't tried it. Efficiency circa 80%. Room sealed.

Avoid flueless gas fires if possible. They need 100x100mm room ventilation opening and the draughts and heat losses soon outweigh any apparent advantages.

Linea above, Nemos below. Programmable remote controls.

The Nemos flue can turn 90 degrees to a balanced flue through the wall. The Linea flue is more or less central to the fire and goes straight through the wall. Flue opening can be drilled from inside with no need for any work outside the building (unless timber framed with cladding).

 

I think the real issue is finding a switch that will turn it in and off.

You need to find a low voltage switch that mlgw will control.

I can't advise on this front

Before you do any mistake, ask Arthur Weasley's opinion about fireplaces which are not accessible by floo powder ...
