A good review. The sections where it didn't score so highly, will undoubtably be ironed out in Mk2-3.

Imagine if they end up doing an UHD OLED version one day. Even I could be tempted.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

From the article:

B&O TVs have tended to struggle a little where input lag is concerned, compromising their appeal as video gaming monitor.
But B&O is adamant that it has sorted this out for the Avant, and our input lag measurements of around 66ms are indeed reasonable (though not spectacular) for a 4K TV.

Am I wrong or "indeed reasonable" is a bit generous for that kind of lag?

Found this:

"B&O slightly surprisingly not introducing its own proprietary upscaling processing engine for this, instead using a ‘bought in’ one"

very interesting, especially in light of the upscaling comments on other threads. Any idea who the solution comes from?

Does the 'bought in' bit limit / increase B&O's ability to improve the upscaling?

Well, those areas aren't immediately important Chris - as they rightly say, no/little 4K exists, never mind worrying about HDMI 2.0 or higher standards. When a MK2 ships, we'll no doubt be talking about HDMI 3.0 etc etc. ie. staying on top of forthcoming technology is a huge challenge.

The BBC already claim that HDMI 2.0 won't be good enough to display 4K sport, which they claim will require a minimum of 100fps. HDMI 2.0 can only do 60fps. HDCP 2.2 is forthcoming too, which means current 4K TVs won't be able to display 4K encrypted using this format. It's a bit of a mess really.

He didn't state weather or not he put it in game mode or even monitor mode, and even then by switching off the motion compensation in conjunction with game mode should result in even lower lag I'm sure.

Like I've also stated hd sources don't require noise reduction as it just adds noise to the picture so having that switched off on hd  should definitely yield better results.

I would also have sharpness set to its lowest setting also as it does introduce ringing, when i had a home demo of the v1 with a few setting tweaks i was able to get a picture that looked absolutely breathtaking.
