Hi all,
I have a beolab 3500 MKI and I'm happy so far with it. Installed in the kitchen, soon in a bedroom this is not a high performance speakers but are not that bad compared to the size and very convenient to remote listen to any source I have.
The question I have is the following. Starting from 2006 they improved the bass (it is true that to me BL3500 lacks from bass, I pushed up to level 7 so maximum to have something quite ok) as they changed the woofer.
So is someone noticed a really big difference between MK1 and MK2. If yes are those new woofer driver compliant with MK1 "out of the box" so I could change it in a standard way ?
Thanks as usually for your ffedback and experience.
Have a nice day
Franck
Had several for service. But all these woofers are the same as the ones for the BL6000's. Only the 6000's are shielded with a magnet on the back.
I replace the surrounds from the woofers with a new rubber version, which gives more bass than with the original ones.
Still there will never be a lot of bass, but a decent sound can be produced.
Now and then I convert these as a centerspeaker. Not much bass needed then.
Hi Beobuddy,
Thanks for your advises. To change myself this part of woofer hummm.... no I will not do it myself so maybe I will contact my B&O here who did really a good job on my Ouverture, to check what he could do on it at least to have a decent sound. This BL3500 are not my main speakers but if can be improved for reasonable price I will do. I though to replace the full woofer by brand new one that are mounted on BL3500 starting from 2006 ?
