A bv 7 55 with blu ray is it still interesting today?

Is the bv 7 55 not 3d but with blu ray player still a good purchase nowadays ?

I have sold my bv 7 40 and waiting for the launch of the new panasonic 4k with local diming but as the bv 7 55 has also local diming, I wonder if it won't be a challenger.

How much should it worth compared to others bv ?

With your gear listed - why is the Pana so interesting?

Go for the 7-55. It's (still) an exellent tv - and it will make your everyday life much easier.

The pana has many pros :

4k with local diming, advanced smart tv experience, not so heavy than bv 7 55

But it is not a bv. I miss my bl 7.

I have just bought a lintronic appliance that will allow me to control every other appliances from a beo4 if I still want to use it with my next tv.

The problem is that I won't be able to place a bv 7 55 and two bl 5 in the same place. If I go this way I would rather choose two bl9.

I love the look of the bv11 but I am more and more deceive by its sound and quality picture for regular or streamed movies. My father has one and I spent some days with it recently.

The decision will be hard this fall.

if I had the space a mk2 would be my first choice in BVs. Or if I had even more space a 12.

The 7-55 has always had Blu-Ray. It's only the Type Numbers with a "7" in which have 3D.

All are fantastic televisions. I can choose any BV I like as I deal in them every day - and I choose a 7-55 as my own TV at home. I had an 11-55 and actually sold it to go back to a 7-55.  In my opinion it's the best TV B&O have ever made so far...

Mk1 had both a BluRay and a non BluRay version. I opted in 2011 for the Mk1 version w/o BluRay. In my view, the Panel with the BS3 processor has far more longevity than a BluRay which can be updated with an external device more easily.

I intend to keep my BV 7-55 for the long run. The picture at the viewing distance of 3m is outstanding. I am not sure you gain a lot by waiting for the next best thing... 

My recommendation - go for it. With movable LED backlighting screen, the BS3 machine plus a versatile motorised stand plus many HDMIs either BL7-4 or BL7-6 and BL9 you get a state of the art system which is also a beautiful piece of design.

I couldn't agree more, the 7-55 is one of a kind! Maybe the last B&O TV with such an expensive and very individual backlit screen? There hasn't been a TV to match it since, in price!

I have had both mk 1 and mk 2. A great tv but now have sold mine for a Avant as resale prices are going down. So secondhand will be a great buy !

My Avant was an offer I could not refuse and not pounds to swop but Loose change lol.

I made a big mistake yesterday.

I went to an a/v dealer for buying a tablet and had a look to the last tv sets. The samsung curved uhd hu8500, lg oled curved 55 a sony and a panasonic uhd ax800.

I would say it didn't helped me at all. It is a really mess in my head now :).

The main reason why I won't choose a bv 7 55 is because it is too heavy and I was already really annoyed by my bv 7 40 for this reason too. I need a tv that I can move donwstair or upstair, on wall or on the floor without the need of someone else.

If the interest of the uhd is arguable, oled is really an improvment for the contrast and there is an element very important to me : the upscale capabilities of some models, samsung in particular.

I could add an oppo to a bv but why should I pay so much if I am obliged to add it.

In need a good upscale for my collection of dvd/bluray and for regular tv programs.

Funnily enough, we have just got back from looking at a 'Boulanger' store in France for a tablet and while we were there, we took a quick look at the TV selection (as you do!).  I must say, I don't remember which model it was but the SONY UHD Tv we looked at was superb and was about 2600€. - better than the Panasonic which was also over 1000€ more.  I can see why your trip didn't help much!
