Hi
This is my first time on beoworld, im after some guidance. I managed to liberate a beocentre 9000 from my work place after being in a cupboard for over 10yrs. A fix from my local b&o dealer sorted problem with cd player. I have now been after a pair of penta mk3 which i pick up tomorrow afternoon. Not sure about foam rot as seller dare not take frets off. But they come with eu power cords and adapters. Can i just cut off moulded plug and wire directley into a three pin plug ?? How many wires are in thr eu power cord ?? Steve at sounds heavenly will make me some speaker link cables so displays should work ok with the bc9000........sorry im going on and on....i will shut up now.....can anyone offer advice on eu cord conversion ??
Many thanks
Merlarky
Hi,
You don't say where you are but if you mean UK plugs you just need these

Welcome to Beoworld. You say they already come with adapters so you can just keep them as they are and use the adapters, or, if you really feel the need to, you can cut the 2 pin EU plugs off and wire them into a UK 3 pin plug. The EU lead only has 2 wires, live and neautral (brown and blue). There is no Earth wire.
Good call with Steve at Sounds Heavenly - the best supplier to use.
Taking frets off the Pentas can be fiddly. It took me ages to get mine off for recovering the frets! The clips were so tight that I had to use a blunt, flat blade scraper between the trim and fret to help get them off. Once it starts, the rest are easier.
Dave.
Another tip if you want to check the drivers, use a torch (I used my iphone light) through the frets and you'll see them easily!

Hi dave
Yes frets are very hard to get off....i dare not try
Im a little confused as when cleaning i have come across a date on the amp of 1988
But label under neath shows model 6631..also i have a speaker link, two powerlinks and a line in connector........1988 would mean penta mk1 but model 6631 is penta mk3 i beleive as are the connectors ( i think ) are you able a clarify ??
Thanks gary
The "1988" is the copyright year of the design. Ignore that. Type 6631 is Mk.3.
