Hi guys
I've been looking to get some speakers for my Beogram 1203 but am unsure as to which to buy. Budget is potentially up to £100 (but of course am hoping to find a bargain!) Would like to get some matching B&O speakers of the period - but which would you recommend? (They need to fit on a shelf, around 40cm high) Or would you suggest buying new ones? Or a different brand?
Thanks a lot
Your Beogram needs to be connected to a suitable amplifier which in turn will drive the speakers.
If you want to stick with B&O then the tuner/ amplifier originally intended to work with the Beogram 1200 series was the Beomaster 1200.
They can be picked up quite cheaply on eBay but will almost certainly need recapping. Beovox speakers from the same era would also be suitable but would also probably need recapping.
The Beogram 1203 did not have an internal preamp so if you wanted to connect to a modern amplifier lacking a 'Gramophone' input you would need a suitable pre amp too.
I personally have a BM1200, BG1200 and drive Beovox 2600’s, although the 2600 is probably a rare beast to find. Search the archived forum to get the most ideas for your future set-up. (Top right tab).

I would suggest for excellent sound, I would get a Beomaster 2200 (usually very cheap but one of B&O's best amplifiers) and some Beovox S45-2s. These are 48cm high so might be a little big, but you can put them on their side. I would say that these sound as good in this combination as many of the modern systems available.

Great, thanks both for your replies :-)
