Hi I have a Mk1 Bv7-32 with hd upgrade and Freeview module built in, now over the last 6 months and its happening more often is when turning the tv on it doesnt switch the bl7.1 on, so i have to turn it of and switch on again, is this a known issue or just me and then ive added hd on to it using an humax box and the picture doesnt always come up if the tv isnt on first, i assume this is a issue with handshaking.

is it worth getting this looked at or look at a new tv, just wondering if expensive repair then i might get the insurance comapany involved

thanks

Hi Kokane81,

It may be as simple as a faulty cable that is stopping the speaker coming on.  However, as you mentioned that you also have picture issues with the TV, then there may be a more serious issue with the TV that requires attention.  Cabling can often be the easiest thing to check before resorting to major repairs......

Kind regards, Steve.

Cheers for the reply Steve, I've tried a new powerlink and still does it with that, it's annoying as it's intermittent but when the fault occurs the strange thing is the green led on the 7.1 switches on and u get static pop as the tv turns on but no sound and also no volume digits going up or down on the tv. Switch off and back on the sound comes back and works fine.
