Dear Beoworld community,

After many years collecting B&O I'm very pleased to have purchased a BeoLab 2 woofer to add to my system, but having looked in the user guide I'm not sure how best to connect it. Some advice would be welcome!

I have in the sitting room a BV7-32 which currently drives 2 x BL8000 front speakers and 2 x BL6000 rear speakers. Not only do I watch films via an Apple TV3 connected to the DVI input, I also listen to a lot of music on this system brought in via the MaterLink either from my Mac-Mini/Cambridge DAC Magic/BeoPort or a BS3200 in another room, so ideally want the woofer to work in all circumstance not just when using the Dolby surround sound logic.

How best to connect the BL2? Is it:

1. Via sub-woofer socket on BV7-32? or

2. Via the same power link cables that feed the BL8000s?

Both options are described in the User Manual as valid. Any tips and advice would be appreciated, thanks.

best regards,

Rob

Hello Rob,

1. is the way go go because then you will benefit from the sound processor in your Beovision in all circumstances (5.1 sound and stereo).

I would connect it to the BV so that the BV is directing the audio depending on the source

If attached via a speaker daisy chain the subwoofer is "invisible" to the BV and you will not get LFE
